Creative Problem Solving Competition.
Odyssey of the Mind is a global creative problem-solving program for students from elementary school through college. Teams of five to seven students work together for several months to solve one of five long-term challenges—and then present their solutions at regional, national, and international tournaments.
The problems span a wide range of disciplines: mechanical engineering, performing arts, and the visual arts. Each problem includes a strict set of constraints, a scoring system, and a time limit—but within these constraints, there are no prescribed solutions. The goal is for the children to come up with their own.
At Ecole Eden, participating in Odyssey of the Mind is one of the most stimulating and rewarding experiences we offer our students. The program fosters lateral thinking, teamwork, perseverance, and the confidence needed to explore unconventional ideas.

There are no ready-made answers in Odyssey of the Mind. Children must come up with original solutions under time pressure and within strict constraints—developing true creative confidence.
Teamwork
The problems are designed to require collaboration. Every team member must contribute—and the children quickly learn that the best solutions come from combining different perspectives.
Resilience
Months of preparation, numerous failed prototypes, and a high-stakes tournament teach children how to persevere, adapt, and stay motivated in the face of challenges—a skill that can be applied to all areas of life.

Together, students imagine, design and present original solutions to open-ended problems, combining engineering, drama, storytelling and visual arts.
— THE STAGES OF THE CONTEST
Teamwork
to the stage.
Team formation: 5 to 7 students, supervised by an adult coach.
Choice of a long-term problem from several themes (technical, artistic, structural, etc.).
Creating the solution: children imagine, build and rehearse without outside help.
Spontaneous" training: surprise challenges to develop quick thinking and collaboration.
Regional competition: presenting the solution on stage + solving a surprise challenge.
Then 6 national competitions, followed by world competitions (depending on qualification).
